December 13 & 14, 2008 - Maggie & Molly

Molly's mom Kona was rescued while pregnant.  Molly was born in a foster home.  She is such a loving dog and we are so glad that she found a wonderful home with Janet and her family...Molly has been pampered since birth and I know it will continue to be....

Maggie (thought to have been an owner surrender) ended up at a kill shelter. The staff apparently fell in love with her loving personality and bypassed her for euthanasia. But the shelter was getting crowded.  It was close to Thanksgiving and she was going to be euthanized at some point. Her picture touched the heart of Sue in NJ who agreed to adopt her, and so she offered a "bribe", errr.... ummm...  donation to any local rescue who would take Maggie temporarily until transport could be arranged.  Celina Weissenborn of the spca of TN stepped up to the plate and saved her. She found Maggie a foster home, where she stayed until wonderful Cheryl Kaminski was able to set up the transport with the help of all of the wonderful, incredible, giving volunteers named below.

Molly is HOME!

Team Mutt Muff leaving Carroll County, MD (KDMW) as the sun rises to pick up our beautiful passengers at Shenandoah airport (KSHD)
Maggie and Molly are so excited.  Refreshed after an overnight stay in Staunton, VA after a very long day of driving, they were looking forward to finally being in their very own homes with families of their own, who will love them.
40 and 50 knot tailwinds  sent us to Lancaster, PA in record time, where we met the next driver Lori.

After two long days of travel, Maggie and Molly are finally in the loving care of their new families.  Janet D., Molly's adoptive mom drove down to NJ from Worcester, MA to pick up her new family addition.

Left to right, Janet and Molly, Maggie and her new mom Sue.

"Everyone, there really are no words big enough to express my gratitude to all of you who made this possible."   Maggie's new Mom, Sue L. in NJ

I don't know how to express my heartfelt gratitude to all that made this possible. I have always believed that there are angels among us and now I know there are because I have met them. My thanks and my love to all of you for bringing these babies home. You will be in my thoughts and prayers always. Molly slept peacefully with me last night. She likes her new home, Peanut Butter is still trying to get used to her and her to him.  My family is complete and happy! Happy Holiday's everyone.  Molly's new Mom, Janet D in MA
