Jax, June and Siri

January 4, 2014

As told by Rhonda with Chances Angel Rescue & Education (C.A.R.E)...

Jax was brought to our local shelter as a stray. He was found running around dragging a logging chain.  We pulled him from the shelter and placed him foster care with Karen McEntee who fell in love with him. Karen has fostered many dogs for CARE. and this bubblehead guy was the hardest for her let go.

June was surrendered to CARE along with her siblings, Emmylou and Patsy who have also found their forever homes.

Siri was pulled as a stray from Cleveland County Shelter in Shelby NC.

Thanks to everyone for giving these babies a 2nd chance!
This is poor Jax at the kill shelter.   His chances at a home were non-existent until Rhonda came along.

Pilot Michele meets Siri, Jax and June, and the wonderful rescue volunteers at KTDF, Person County Airport in North Carolina.

The temperatures were the most challenging part of this mission.   We started at Carroll County airport in the pre-dawn hours at an exhilerating 6 degrees Fahrenheit.  The low temps didn't allow any of the previous snowfall to melt.  Kudos to the airport crew for making the runway useable.

Beautiful Jax is ready to board and begin the first leg to an exciting new life.

We had a glorious flight back to KDMW, Westminster, MD.   Leg 2 pilot, Elliott was waiting for us.... in his car.   His base airport KFDK, Frederick, MD was closed due to the snow.  Bless his heart, he loaded the three travelers in his car and drove the last leg to get these beauties to their final destination.

We wish these loveable fur balls a happy new year, and a very short wait until they find just the perfect families.
